Vitamin D for Depression

We know that vitamin D is good for strong bones and to boost the immune system. A new study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that it also might make you happier!

Researchers from the University of Massachusetts analyzed 3 years of health and diet data from more than 81,000 women, aged 50 to 79. They found that those with a daily vitamin D intake of 800 IU or greater had a 21% lower risk of being depressed than women with a daily intake of less than 100 IU. (Sunshine triggers the body’s production of vitamin D, perhaps another reason why it feels so good to be outside.) Another good resaon why I include 2,000 IU of vitamin D in the Energy Revitalization System vitamin powder.
