Does Sunbathing Slow Down MS?

It has been clearly documented that people who get less sunshine are more likely to get multiple sclerosis (MS). This new study shows that in some of those who already have MS, getting more sunshine is also associated with better outcomes.

Belgian researchers studied more than 700 people with MS, asking them about their level of sun exposure and their level of disability from the disease. Over a 10-year period, those with the most sun exposure had a lower risk of developing disability.

Note: The results were true for those with "relapsing-onset" MS, which is the type that waxes and wanes. They didn't hold up for those with "progressive MS," which is the kind that steadily worsens.
