Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis, or decreased bone density and strength, is present in as many as 30% of women. It can worsen with age, inactivity, and hormonal deficiencies. It is easily diagnosed by performing a test called a DEXA scan. Fortunately, many treatments can be very effective at restoring bone strength and eliminating osteoporosis pain.

A very exciting, new, natural tool for treating osteoporosis is Strontium. This safe and inexpensive mineral is even more effective than Fosamax at improving bone density, and decreased fractures by half. As a bonus, strontium may also be helpful in the treatment of osteoarthritis. Take 340-680 mg of strontium in the morning and take 600 mg of Calcium at dinner and bedtime. Calcium is better absorbed with food and taken at night (calcium can also improve your sleep). An excellent calcium/strontium product is Bone Health.

There are many other nutrients that are also critical for bone production. These include magnesium, boron, zinc, and vitamins D, C and B complex, which can all be found in good multi-vitamin powders.

So, to very effectively reverse osteoporosis, take Strontium 340-680 mg in the morning along with a good overall nutritional supplement and add 600 mg of calcium at dinner and bedtime. In addition, go for walks regularly. If you are over 48 years old, consider seeing a doctor who is familiar with prescribing safe, natural hormones. In severe cases, adding Fosamax 70 mg a week can also help.
