Vitamin D Eliminates Chronic Pain in Sickle Cell Anemia

A researcher at the Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta reported an unusual case in which high levels of vitamin D completely eliminated chronic pain in a patient with sickle cell anemia — an easy treatment to keep in mind!

The patient had vitamin D deficiency, osteoporosis and even osteonecrosis (a.k.a. "bone death") — and doctors treated the problem with high-dose vitamin D. Not only was bone strengthened, but the pain of sickle cell anemia was completely eliminated!
