Steps to Getting Well
The most important goal we have at this website is to help those who suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and fibromyalgia (CFS/FM) get well. In this section we discuss two alternative treatment approaches:
|How to design and manage a treatment protocol by yourself, or|
|How to work with a trained CFS/FM practitioner to manage a treatment protocol.|
How to Manage Your Own Treatment Plan
If you prefer to manage your own treatment without a personal physician, our website can help. Through this site, Dr. T can guide you through understanding your illness and then create your own personal treatment protocol tailored to treat your specific symptoms. All the resources to get well are right here — CFS/FM education, online programs to diagnose your symptoms, and an online store with natural supplements either hand-picked by Dr. T or formulated directly by him that you can use in your treatment.
To use our website to manage your own treatment program, we recommend the following general steps:
|1.||Educate yourself. Read Dr. T's book From Fatigued To Fantastic!|
|2.||Use our free Short Program to analyze your conditions. The Short Program is a simplified questionnaire you can take online at our website. It takes only 20-30 minutes to fill out and it will determine which treatments are most likely to help you and supply detailed treatment instructions.|
|3.||Optional—Set up a counseling session with Dr. T's assistant, Cheryl Alberto, for advice on how to get started and use the protocol efficiently, avoid side effects and get the most benefit quickly. Cheryl can help you tailor your steps in getting well to the “key” underlying factors in your illness. Sessions are $45 per half-hour.|
|4.||Follow the treatment program that results from doing the Short Program, including taking the natural remedies it recommends (you can purchase most of the supplements you need directly from this www.endfatigue.com).|
|5.||Consider stool and blood testing, available through our office, to fine tune your program results. You can also print out a lab requisition form from our website that you can bring to your physician to show what testing should be done.|
How to Get Treatment by Working with a Practitioner
If a practitioner will be involved with your treatment, we recommend that you make sure he or she is educated on specific treatment approaches for CFS/FM (click here if you'd like help finding a trained practitioner). We recommend they are either associated with a national Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers (Dr. T is their Medical Director) or has been otherwise trained in Dr. T's treatment protocol.
Here are our recommended steps when working with a practitioner:
|1.||Educate yourself and your practitioner. Complimentary copies of Dr. T's books From Fatigued To Fantastic! and Pain Free 1-2-3! are available for practitioners. Ask your practitioner's office to email us at email@example.com to request them (be sure to ask them to include their phone number so that we can call to verify their practice information).|
|2.||Use our Full Program to analyze your conditions. The Full Program is a much more thorough questionnaire than our free Short Program and is also taken online at our website. It takes 1-2 hours to complete and will provide a complete and thorough medical evaluation and medical record for your physician.|
|3.||Get started on the natural remedy plan that results from doing the online Full Program.|
|4.||Optional—Set up a counseling session between you, your physician and Dr. T's assistant, Cheryl Alberto, to consult on how to effectively utilize prescription medications and blood/stool testing to help fine tune the treatment protocol resulting from Step 2.|
